Sizzle for a Cause Feb. 23 at Layfayette Club

In the fifth annual Sizzle for a Cause, local chefs from five Lake Minnetonka area restaurants will battle it out in a “Chopped”-style cooking competition 6:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Lafayette Club, Minnetonka Beach. The winner takes home bragging rights as well as the coveted Golden Cleaver.
Each chef will prepare a dish featuring a surprise secret ingredient, as well as pantry staples. Last year’s chefs were surprised with celery root. Local celebrity judges Robyne Robinson, Sue Zelickson and Eli Wollenzien will taste each dish to determine which is best and crown the winner.
This year’s presenting sponsor is Michael Foods. Chefs for this year’s competition include Birch’s on the Lake, Victor’s on Water, Gianni’s Steakhouse, Lafayette Club & Bacio. Spectators will watch the action while enjoying appetizers from the participating restaurants. Dessert will also be provided by Joey Nova’s, and a cash bar is available.
Proceeds from all tickets purchased will benefit ICA Food Shelf, which serves the communities of Minnetonka, Hopkins, Excelsior, Deephaven, Woodland, Greenwood and Shorewood.
