Wat Thai of Minnesota will celebrate Thai Mother’s Day Sunday, Aug. 13.
Mother’s Day is one of the most significant holidays in Thailand, honoring the Queen of Thailand’s birthday and mothers everywhere. Wat Thai’s celebration will kick off with a food offering for the monks at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Dhamma Talk by our Abbot at 12:30 p.m. and concluding with a special ceremony honoring Her Majesty the Queen and mothers at 1:30 p.m.
Mayor Jake Spano has confirmed that he will attend in addition to other community members. The Wat Thai market will also be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring Thai street food, beverages, flowers and complimentary jasmine pins.
Wat Thai is located at 2544 Hwy. 100 S. in St. Louis Park.
