Wayzata High student receives science achievement award

Molly Carroll, a student who recently completed her junior year at Wayzata High School, has received a Norman Borlaug Science Achievement Award from the University of Minnesota’s College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.

The award recognizes Carroll’s academic achievement in the sciences. She has won awards in the Minnesota Science Fair and participated in the Global Youth Institute and plans to pursue a career in food science.

The award includes a $1,000 scholarship upon successful enrollment in the university’s College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.

College alumnus Mary Hockenberry Meyer, a resident of Plymouth, presented the award. Meyer is a professor in Horticultural Science at the university. The award is sponsored by the college’s alumni society.
