Two Lake Conference teams will compete in the State Class 4A Baseball Tournament June 15-19.
Wayzata and Eden Prairie, will meet one another in a first-round game at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at CHS Field in St. Paul.
Wayzata (17-6) is the top seed. The Trojans have three proven pitchers – seniors Matthew Bohlke, Peyton Gallagher and Will Oberg.
In other first-round matchups Thursday at CHS Field, Burnsville (21-6) will play Lakeville North (19-5) at 12:30 p.m., Maple Grove (17-6) will play Forest Lake (18-6) at 3 p.m. and Woodbury (16-8) will play Champlin Park (17-5) at 5:30 p.m.
Semifinal games are set for noon and 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, at CHS. The championship contest is set for 7 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Target Field.
The first-round games in the State Boys and Girls Lacrosse Tournaments were played on Tuesday, June 13, at Minnetonka and Chanhassen High Schools.
Area teams competing include the Wayzata, Eden Prairie and Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys and the Eden Prairie and Blake girls.
The semifinal games will be played Thursday, June 15, and the championship matches for both boys and girls will be played Saturday, June 17.
Eagan is the top seed for the boys tournament and Eden Prairie is the top seed for the girls tournament.
