Wayzata Free Church breaks ground on new multi-use facility

A groundbreaking ceremony was April 9 for a new multi-use facility at Wayzata Free Church, 705 County Road 101 N., Plymouth.

According to the church officials, dozens attended the ceremony and several congregation members addressed the crowd about the importance of the project.

“We hope this new facility will allow us to open our doors to our neighborhood and community in even more ways than we do currently,” said Kevin Meyer, senior pastor.

The new facility will include a gym and classrooms, which will be used by church youth for its clubs and programs. The church also plans to use the building for adult exercise classes, sports leagues and community events.

The facility is expected to be completed in October.  Other current work at the church includes the remodeling of the church’s sanctuary. Upon its expected completion in August, the new sanctuary will have seats instead of pews, new carpet and an updated stage.
