Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be discussed March 24 in St. Louis Park

Congregation Or Emet will host speakers who will build on their previous conversations on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The presenters will briefly review some possible outcomes of the conflict, tying in observations on basic Humanistic Jewish values.

The event will be 7:30-9 p.m. Friday, March 24, in Room M-28 of the Sabes Jewish Community Center, 4330 Cedar Lake Road S.

Speaker Barry B. Cohen is a sociologist with a 45-year career in teaching and program evaluation, the retired director of Rainbow Research and former research and planning director of the Minneapolis Area United Way. Speaker Allan Malkis currently works in research evaluation for Ramsey County Human Services and has formerly worked with the United Way, the University of Minnesota and various nonprofits. Speaker Howard Schneider is a retired sociology teacher who has spent years conducting research for nonprofits and county governments and who has been involved in anti-war, civil rights and environmental organizations.

A short Humanistic Jewish Sabbath service will precede the program. An Oneg Shabbat reception will follow.
