St. Louis Park native Thomas Friedman will join the St. Louis Park Historical Society to kick off their History Center Capital Fund Campaign 7 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in the Sabes Jewish Community Center theater at 4330 S. Cedar Lake Road in St. Louis Park.
Friedman is a New York Times columnist and book author who has won the Pulitzer Prize three times.
On the heels of the 2016 release of his book “Thank You for Being Late,” Friedman will be interviewed by another St. Louis Park native, Susan Linnee. She is a retired foreign correspondent and bureau chief for the Associated Press. They will discuss Friedman’s youth in Minnesota, including how St. Louis Park and the Twin Cities impacted his world view.
Since April 30 will mark the 100th day of the Trump presidency, organizers said that attendees can look forward to a lively discussion and question-and-answer session on the current state of political affairs in the United States.
