The St. Louis Park League of Women Voters is sponsoring a community forum about racial disparities in education 7 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the community room at St. Louis Park City Hall, 5500 Minnetonka Blvd.
The featured speaker is Karen Waters, a community organizer and advocate for children and public education. She is a St. Louis Park School Board member and liaison to West Metro Education Programming, an organization responsible for equity and inclusion training.
Waters will discuss strategies that are helping St. Louis Park Public Schools close the achievement gap and what a commitment to racial equity means for white educators, administrators and school board members as well as staff and students of color.
