Local real estate agent Aaron Brown is spearheading a fall shoe donation drive as part of Soles4Souls, a nonprofit global initiative committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.
Brown, of Weichert Realtors Advantage, has announced that his offices – at 710 Commerce Drive, Suite 180, in Woodbury, and 1907 Wayzata Blvd., Suite 110, in Wayzata – are official Soles4Souls drop-off locations where people can drop off new or gently worn pairs of shoes.
According to Soles4Souls, the nonprofit aims to eradicate extreme poverty by 2050 by helping children who are prevented from attending school and adults are who are unable to work as walking becomes unbearable. To date, Soles4Souls has collected and distributed more than 26 million pairs of shoes to those in need in 127 countries around the world and all 50 states in the U.S.
“Every pair of donated shoes counts, and can provide relief today so thousands can succeed tomorrow,” Brown said. “Every person in the world should have at least one good pair of shoes.”
