A public opening reception for the exhibit, “Piece by Piece: Mosaic Art in Minnesota,” is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins.
The exhibit will run through Sunday, April 14.
Produced by the Minnesota Mosaic Guild, the exhibit features original works by its members that represent a variety of mosaic styles, techniques and materials from traditional tiles to found objects.
Mosaics have adorned communities from the 3rd millennium B.C. in Mesopotamia to the present day where they are found on public and private structures, as well as in art galleries.
