Calder Quartet to perform Feb. 23 at Hopkins art center
The Calder Quartet will perform 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Hopkins Center for the Arts, 1111 Mainstreet, Hopkins.
The quartet is named after visual artist Alexander Calder, and it strives to balance its programs by connecting quartet masterworks with those by contemporary composers, emerging musicians and performers across genres.
Winners of 2009’s ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming and quartet-in-residence at L.A.’s Colburn Conservatory, the ensemble is considered one of the most exciting, smart, accessible and innovative young quartets to emerge in the 21st century.
Tickets are $26, with discounts available for center members, seniors and students.
