Plymouth Library events

The Plymouth Library, 15700 36th Avenue North, will host the following events in Februry:

Friends Meeting 

6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7.

Join fellow library enthusiast to hear what’s happening at Hennepin County Library. Help support the Plymouth Library by planning and volunteering with the Friends of the Plymouth Library at book sales, programs and special events. A Friends board meeting will also be held.

Teen Anime Club

4:30-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7.

Designed for teens interested in anime – Japanese animated productions. Join others to watch and review new anime episodes, share artwork and hang out with other anime fans. Thursday’s program is two hours long for watching an extensive line-up of anime. Event is sponsored by the Friends of the Plymouth Library.

Exploring Chinese New Year – Part 1

1:30-2:15 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9.

This family program will explore why Chinese New Year falls on a different date every year, how families prepare for and celebrate the festival and how millions of Chinese people chase away winter and bad luck to welcome the promise of spring and good fortune. Sponsored by the Friends of the Plymouth Library.

Exploring Chinese New Year – Part 2

2:30-3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9.

Celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Snake. The entire family is welcome for a musical performance featuring a guzheng, an ancient stringed instrument predominantly used during the Qin and Tang Dynasties. Event is sponsored by the Friends of the Plymouth Library.
