Friends Meeting

The Friends of the Plymouth Library invite all who would like to hear what’s happening at Hennepin County Library. Help support the library by planning and volunteering at book sales, programs and special events. A board meeting will be held both nights.
Act Out for Teens: Intro to Physical Comedy
2-3:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26
For grades 6-9. An experienced Guthrie teaching artist will help attendees explore theater techniques for a wide variety of physical comedy. No experience is necessary. Registration is required and begins Dec. 29 online at hclib.org or by calling 612-543-5825. The project is funded with money from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Minnesotans in the Civil War: Letters From Local Brothers
7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 29
Hampton Smith, reference librarian at the Minnesota Historical Society, will discuss his book “Brother of Mine.” The book is based on letters within the MHS collections that trace the war experiences of Minnesotan brothers from enlistment to safe return in the Civil War. Registration is required and can be done online or by calling 612-543-5825. The project is funded with money from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
