LETTER: Cost of St. Louis Park stoplights questioned

To the Editor:

The new stoplights at 3601 Park Center Drive will cost approximately $10,000 per year to operate, according to St Louis Park Public Works Director Mike Rardin.

Beyond the initial investment of $600,000 for the intersection, this represents a significant ongoing cost to the city. To have such a major new intersection just 200 feet from another existing pedestrian and vehicle intersection questions the wisdom of the current plan and demonstrates the critical need for wise and innovative planning in the future.
