Excelsior man accused of threat at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park

An Excelsior man has been accused of threatening a hospitalized woman at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged Samuel Lee Moore, 56, with one count of terroristic threats, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a fine of $10,000.

A court document provides the following account of the allegations against Moore:

St. Louis Park police were dispatched to Methodist Hospital Dec. 1 on a report that Moore had threatened an adult female patient.

The woman told police Moore had visited her at about 10 p.m. Dec. 1. She claimed he had been drinking and began swearing at her and calling her names.

The woman “referenced a previous assault that had occurred over Thanksgiving weekend and asked the Defendant if he was going to beat her again,” the court document states.

Moore allegedly replied, “This time I’m going to knock you down the stairs so I can break your neck and kill you.”

The woman told police Moore was sitting next to her hospital bed when he made the alleged threats. When Moore would not leave when the woman asked him to, she said she left her room to find a nurse. Hospital security escorted Moore out of the woman’s hospital room.

Bail was set at $30,000 with a condition of release being that Moore could have no contact with the alleged victim.
