Minnetonka seeks outdoor rink volunteers
The city of Minnetonka is looking for adult volunteers for several outdoor ice rinks at six city parks.
Since 2006, volunteers have allowed the city to expand operating hours at warming houses beyond the regular operation schedule. More volunteers are needed for this season at Meadow, Covington, Spring Hill, Boulder Creek, Gro Tonka and McKenzie parks.
Volunteers must be at least 25 years old and are responsible for opening and securing their assigned building, operating the rink lighting and building heating systems, completing required forms and communicating with the Recreation Services Department.
Volunteers are allowed to open their assigned warming house for extended use until 10 p.m. during days and times when the employee attendant is not scheduled.
