Eden Prairie boys lead All-Lake soccer
Lake Conference boys soccer champion Eden Prairie leads the selections for the 2012 all-conference team.
Eagles honored by the conference head coaches are junior midfielder Matt Murakami, junior forward Adbul Omar, senior defender Chris Hurst and senior midfielder Mike Vuolo.
The Eagles (6-2-0) edged Wayzata (5-2-1) for the Lake championship.
Wayzata has three all-conference players, senior goalie Grant Larson, senior midfielder Drake Mjaanes and junior defender Nick Riley.
Edina also has three All-Lake players. They are senior forward-midfielder Arin Arpinar, senior goalie Alex Pastor and junior defender Nick Stastny.
Minnetonka’s all-conference picks are senior defender Jake Wright, sophomore goalie Max Melin and freshman forward Suad Suljic.
Hopkins has two all-conference choices, junior midfielder Pablo Aguindigue and senior defender Alex Lapp.
Wayzata’s Riley and Eden Prairie’s Hurst were the only Lake players named to the State Soccer Coaches’ Association All-State first team.
Honorable mention
In addition to naming 15 boys to the All-Lake first team, the league coaches selected 15 boys honorable mention. They are as follows:
Eden Prairie: Seniors Brandon Daly, Aaron Huderle and Chris Kettell.
Edina: Seniors Mickey Levine, Fahad Maow and Alex Van Gorp.
Wayzata: Seniors Jacob Raska and Peter Castagnetta and junior Obi Wamuo.
Minnetonka: Seniors Ryan Braun and Dane Falline and sophomore Peter Stoltenberg.
Hopkins: Seniors Sami Pierau and Jacob Gredvig and junior Michael Jakobitz.
