Kids’ chess classes at Hopkins Pavilion

The Twin Cities Chess Club and the Chess Club of Minnesota are offering a Sunday Chess School for children ages 5-16 each Sunday, Sept. 23 to Nov. 25, at the Hopkins Pavilion, 11000 Excelsior Blvd., Hopkins.

This chess school will be taught by Igor Rybakov, a USCF-rated tournament chess player who was named the Best Chess Coach of Minnesota in 2010, Chess Master Tim Lee – who is the chess coach of many U.S. champions and finalists – and Master Tatyana Zitserman, who was a member of the U.S. Women’s Team.

Players will be divided by age and skill level.

The cost for this 10-session class is $120. Beginner classes meet 1-2:20 p.m., intermediate classes meet 2:30-3:50 p.m. and advanced classes meet 4-5:30 p.m.
